One of the unavoidable landmarks on the main square in Svetvinčent is the medieval palace, the northern part of which is now offered for sale. Located on one of the most beautiful Renaissance squares in this area, this building catches the eye with its character and rich history. At the opposite end of the palace there is a city loggia with characteristic stone columns and semicircular arches.
The palace was built opposite the famous Morosini Grimani castle, which has been restored today and attracts many tourists and history buffs. On the same square there is also a parish church from 1550 and a public cistern from 1808.
The interior of this historic building spans three floors, the lower two of which were intended for living. The house has several entrance doors, so three doors face the castle, and the fourth one on the gable faces the church. A finely crafted stone staircase leads from the ground floor to the first floor, and a wooden staircase continues to the attic.
The exterior dimensions of the house are 15.75 m x 9.50 m, so each floor has approximately 120 m2 of interior space. Unlike most houses built in that period, here the height of individual floors exceeds 2.60 m, and the height of the attic measured in the central part is as much as 3.33 m. The semicircular windows on the first floor give the house a characteristic look, and the central opening leads to a small balcony which overlooks the town square and the castle.
Considering the microlocation and historical significance, this building offers a huge potential that can be capitalized through its conversion into some public-commercial content such as a heritage hotel or a luxury boutique guesthouse.
Just a few steps away from the palace, on the northern corner of this picturesque square, there is another old stone house, with two additional buildings and a secluded garden with a swimming pool for sale.
The combination of a recognizable old palace and a stone house with a courtyard leaves the possibility of repurposing the building into a diffused hotel, which would offer guests, in addition to the experience of staying in historical buildings, the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the green garden with a view of the castle and the church.
