Snow in Rovinj is always a small event. A town we associate with the sea, stone and a mild Mediterranean climate briefly changes its rhythm. Streets fall silent, colours soften, and familiar scenes appear almost unreal.
The last significant snowfall in Rovinj occurred in 2018, while an earlier snowy day from 2009 is also remembered. Such moments do not last long, but precisely for that reason they remain deeply etched in memory – a rare exception that highlights the town’s otherwise steady character.
When the snow melts, Rovinj quickly returns to itself. Yet those brief white scenes remain captured in photographs, memories and stories retold for years.
